Weekly Timesheets

Use the weekly timesheet grid to efficiently log and review an entire week of time entries in Dime.Sheets.

Weekly Timesheets

The weekly timesheet is the fastest way to log time for an entire week. It presents a familiar grid layout where you can enter hours directly into cells, see running totals, and submit everything for approval at once.

Layout

The timesheet grid is organized as follows:

  • Rows represent project and task combinations. If you are assigned to three projects with two tasks each, you will see six rows.
  • Columns represent the seven days of the week, Monday through Sunday.
  • Cells contain the hours logged for that project-task on that day. Click a cell to enter or edit the value.

The bottom row shows daily totals and the rightmost column shows row totals (total hours per project-task for the week). The bottom-right corner displays your weekly grand total.

Use the left and right arrows at the top of the timesheet to move between weeks. The current week is highlighted and you can click Today to jump back to the current week at any time.

Adding rows

If a project-task combination does not appear in your timesheet, click Add Row at the bottom of the grid. Select a project and task from the dropdown to add a new row. Rows with zero hours across the entire week are automatically hidden when you navigate away.

Entering time

Click on any cell and type the number of hours. Dime.Sheets respects your organization's minimum increment setting. For example, if the minimum increment is 15 minutes, entering 1.25 records one hour and fifteen minutes.

You can also add a description to any cell by clicking the small note icon that appears on hover. Descriptions are optional but recommended for audit and reporting clarity.

Submitting for approval

When your week is complete, click the Submit button at the top of the timesheet. This changes the status of all Draft entries for that week to Submitted, sending them to your manager for review.

You can submit a partial week. Only entries in Draft status are affected -- entries that are already Submitted or Approved remain unchanged.

Copying from previous weeks

Click Copy Previous Week to pre-fill the current week's grid with the same project-task rows from last week. Hours are not copied, only the row structure. This is useful when your work assignments remain stable week to week.

Interaction with individual time entries

The weekly timesheet and the individual time entry views share the same underlying data. An entry created via the timer or manual entry will appear in the corresponding cell on the timesheet, and vice versa.
